A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in Kurling for Kids 2001 and all of the people who sponsored our curlers and marathoners. Beginning on Friday March 30th at 11:00am, 12 curlers embarked on a 24 hour Curling Marathon hoping to add their names to the Guinness Book of World Records and raise money for the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation at the same time. Five of the marathoners were STSers - Lorne Greenberg, Keith Lee, Ed Larente, Carl Mainguy and Robert Sears. Saturday morning at 11:00 the record had been set but the 5 Marathoners didn't have long to rest as they were all set to take part in the Ninth Annual Kurling for Kids Tournament. Both of these events took place at the Town of Mount Royal Curling Club with 96 participants enjoying a day of curling followed by a delicious dinner in the evening.
