TMR 2003
Who would have thought that a small curling tournament could have raised over $85,000 in 5 years. Well that's where our total stands with the $25,000+ that was raised for this year's event that took place this past weekend at the TMR and Glenmore Curling Clubs. Almost 130 curlers took part in this year's edition of Kurling for Kids with all of the proceeds going to purchase a Video Fluoroscopy chair for the Montreal Children's Hospital and a fetal monitor for St. Justine's Hospital.
Once again this year we opened up the ice to the children in the morning and it was great to see so many kids out there having a great time on the ice. As well this year we were very lucky to have two celebrity teams join us for our event. The 2002 Grey Cup Champion Montreal Alouettes entered a team consisting of athletic therapists Scott Suter and Rodney Sassi, as well as all-star cornerback Baron Miles and 2002 Grey Cup MVP Anthony Calvillo ! Radio Station CJAD / Mix 96 also entered a team in our event consisting of Andrew Carter (who has been to the Brier on several occasions), Captain Rob Kemp, Jason Mayoff and Ed Cowell. Both teams had a great time and we hope to have them back with us next year.

We beat the mid-winter blues with Kurling For Kids Comedy for Charity Night
Seventy-Five STSers, family and friends joined a sold-out crowd at Bourbon
Street West for a hilarious evening of side-splitting comedy. Comedians
David Pride and John Wing Jr. wowed the audience with their humorous
anecdotes - ask anyone who was there about the talking lobster who was all
buttered up and the famous "shank" that headliner John Wing Jr. told us
about.
Overall a great night and over $650 was raised for the Montreal Children's
and St. Justine's Hospitals.
